Departure starts in the morning from Marrakech. Ouzoud waterfalls are 150 KM far from Marrakech, in about three hours’ drive. It is located in the middle of the Famous Atlas Mountains near the village of Tanaghmeilt, in the province of Azilal.
Falling from a height of about 100 meters, the falls branch into a series of sub-rivers. Ouzoud, which means ‘the act of grinding grain’ in Berber, which seems to be confirmed by the frequent mills in the region, is home to Barbary apes and a variety of local birds that delight birds’ lovers.
There will be stops for lunch during the drive during lunch to take pictures and look at the surrounding countryside. On the way back to Marrakech, we drive to Lmi-n-ifri, which in Barber dialect means “the door of the cave.” We arrive back at Marrakech by the end of the afternoon bringing your Ouzoud Waterfalls day trip to an end!
It is a rock bridge formed by an underground cave collapsing. The views from there are extraordinary as the river flow between rocks. We will be back in Marrakech by the end of the afternoon.
