Marrakech to Erg Chebbi Dunes 3 days Description:

1st day: Marrakech – Ouarzazate – Dadas Gorges

Your Marrakech to Erg Chebbi dunes tour starts with a morning departure from your stay in Marrakech towards Dades Gorges, crossing the high Atlas Mountains.

On the Tizi-n-Tichka peak, the highest in Africa, we stop for a break to take photos and to admire the breathtaking views of the valleys and the Berber Villages on the sides of the mountains.

Then we take a side road driving towards the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a backdrop for many Hollywood blockbusters, including Gladiator, Alexander, and some parts of the famous TV series the Game of Thrones.

After lunch, a visit is scheduled to the castle with a local guide to look around and take pictures. In the afternoon, we drive past Ouarzazate and the Oasis of Skoura, where we stop to explore the Castle of Amredhil, which is sadly in bad conditions but makes a panoramic view situated on the side of the valley and standing among the palm trees.

From here, the road takes us through the Road of a Thousand Castles and the Valley of the Roses to arrive at Kalaat M’gouna, where we pay a visit to a women co-operative manufacturing local roses cosmetic. Afterwards, we stop in Dades gorges, where you have dinner and spend the night in a hotel.

2nd day: Dades Gorges – Merzouga

After breakfast, a walk is scheduled with your guide to explore the Boumalne Dades valley and the surrounding areas before continuing to the Toudgha gorges, where lunch is served.

Afterwards, we continue our trip, passing by the Ziz Valley and Tafilalet Valley to reach the Dunes of Merzouga, where a camel ride is arranged. After watching the sunset from over the dunes of Erg Chebbi Dunes (250 m), the dunes stretch for miles and miles.

Later at night after dinner, you sit down with your loved ones, other tourists, guides, and others to enjoy storytelling and Berber and Nomad music under the dark sly and shiny stars, feeling the cool chill of the Sahara Desert and the warm light of the fire before spending the night in a Nomad tent at the foot of the dune.

3rd day: Merzouga – Marrakech

If you wake up early enough, you will be rewarded with a magical view of a spectacular sunrise rising from the golden dunes to create an excellent play of the shadow across the shimmering dunes and have a moment of pure peacefulness.

After breakfast, we drive back to Marrakech along the length of the Saghro Mountains, crossing the villages of Alnif, Tazzarine (featured in the film ‘Babel’), and finally N’Qob, where we stop for a break. We continue driving towards Marrakech via the Dra’a Valley and the ancient Road of the Caravans to reach Ouarzazate, where we stop for lunch.

In the afternoon, we cross the High Atlas Mountains to arrive at red city at the end of the afternoon which brings your Marrakech to Erg Chebbi dunes tour to an end.
